My name is Nicholas Aaron Hodge and I am an independent author and publisher ever seeking for new ways to express my voice, to hone my craft, and produce the kinds of eternal stories that I would want to read again and again.

The Story of "P O W E R"

I feel like so many stories are (when the layers are peeled back) about two fundamental forces of nature desperately competing with each other for survival until only one remains. This is such a common tale we humans tell that you almost can’t help but feel as if life is just this constant brutal battle waged invisibly all around you ("Whose side are you on?!”)

The weight of this hopeless battle bore down on me while I was taking a hike through the forested marshland of northern Illinois until I allowed myself a moment to stop and just, listen. As I heard the powerful drone of the electrical wires cleverly stretched from the water’s edge to untold miles beyond, I wondered what it would be like if the natural forces around me could speak for themselves. How did they view their place in the world? Were they really at odds? Or are they, like us, just simply trying their best to coexist and share a little part of this reality? 

That is not to say however, that these forces are not fragile or subject to humanities increasingly destructive nature, because they most certainly are. The question then becomes, “Will we destroy them before we destroy ourselves?”
